Spanish Guitarist

Full figure solid, except hollowed out behind his chest, where there is a marking: "LVL PAT PEND". One screw holds the guitar to his belly, and the hands are cast with the guitar.

Height = exactly 11 inches.

 

Gaucho

Full figure solid, no markings. The hat has a 5/8 inch hole in the top.

Height = 15 and 7/16 inches.

 

Crossed Out

Back is completely flat. Raised letters on front of base: "CROSSED OUT". Probably an early repaint.

Full figure solid, no markings. This depicts a comic strip character from the pre-1920 era, drawn by Fred Opper.

Hollow back, but solid base, no markings on the back, but has incised lettering on the front of the base: "RIP VAN WINKEL".

Heavy full figure solid cast iron piece. Nice detail. No markings. Cast as all one piece, except the lance.

Almost full figure, but hollowed out behind his torso where it has markings: "LVL" and "PAT PEND". Base is held on by 2 screws.

Seated Clown

Two-part casting. Has number "1281" on the hollow back of the clown and on the base. Two screws hold him onto the base.

Hallowed back, no markings.

Pilgrim

Flat back is cobbled, and has the B&H logo in a circle at the back of the base. There are two rubber knobs on the back of the base.

Scottish Highlander

There is another Scottish Highlander by the same maker, with a spear instead of the axe. Being made earlier, and in Britain, they have a bit rougher casting than most American doorstops.

Solid base, but golfer is slightly hollowed out behind his head and body. The number "34" is on the back behind the bushes.

Warrior

Hollowed out back, but very heavy solid base. Made by Bradley and Hubbard. Marked with "B&H" and "7795" in the hollowed out back. Has 2 rubber bumpers on the back of the base, and one behind his head.

Full figure, two-part casting, screw on his back, legs are solid. On back of his cap: "PAT. PENDING"

Humpty Dumpty

Full figure hollow, heavy for its size. The number "661" is found inside the base (raised numbers).

Magna Charta

Back is hollowed out, and there is a small fin supporting the middle of the base. On the front, the monument reads: "BILL OF RIGHTS" and "MAGNA CHARTA".

Man Plowing

Hollow base, back of figure is mostly flat with some reinforcement built into the casting.
On base a quote from the poet Burns:
"Wee modest crimson tipped flow'r
Thou's met me in an evil hour
Wee sleek cow'rin tim'rous beastie
O! What a panic's in thy breastie
"
and the larger letters: "BURNS" in the center of the base.
On the back of the base: "GREENLEES GLASGOW" in raised letters.

Rough Rider

Flat back, with incised numbers behind the base: "S222". On the front of the base, incised letters: "ROUGH RIDER". The letters "U.S." are found at the back of his saddle blanket.

The Grand Old Man: Amos Alonzo Stagg

Hollowed out back. Across the solid base:  "THE WESTERN FOUNDRY CO."   Stagg coached college football until he was 97 years old.  He invented the college bowl game in 1894,  the tackling dummy, the T formation, and backfield in motion. He lived from 1862-1965.

Height = 6 and 10/16 inches.

Full figure, solid, no markings.

Slightly hollowed out behind his coat, and the back of his head is flat, otherwise full figure. Number "780" on the back of the base.

Very heavy, but hollowed out behind trunk and legs. On the back is: "LE MUR. LGT. CO. PAT. PENDING"

Heavy casting with flat back, except hollowed out behind the trunk and the head. The B & H logo (Bradley and Hubbard) is found under the base. There are two rubber knobs behind the base. The figure is held to the base with two screws.

Flat back but hollowed out behind his head. Round hole at the back of the base for a wooden wedge. The number "1258" on middle of back.

Flat front and back, with the front heavily embossed with the design. Base is thick, and extends back 5/8 inch, and forward 3 inches. No markings.
